In 1963, 17 year-old Neil Young performed his first professional appearance at a country club in Winnipeg (Canada) as a member of a band known The Squires.
In 1995, Richey Edwards (Manic Street Preachers’ guitarist) dissapeared leaving no clues to his whereabouts. He left the Embassy Hotel in London early in the morning. His car was found outside Bristol sixteen days later. Edwards has never been found , despite constant searching, and in November 2008 he was declared offically dead.
Of course, two really contradictory facts. Maybe this song could joined them: although this album (Prairie Wind) is dedicated to Neil Young’s father and inspired by his illness and death, there are several songs where the musician shows his concern about mortality. In this song he sings «Yes I´d miss you»; a light link between today’s two anniversaries. Enjoy!
