Today, a few releases to celebrate: 1967,The Beatles released ‘Magical mistery tour’ as a LP in the US (the album would be released in the UK as an EP; for the US version several singles from 1967 were added to conform the LP).
1970, ‘All things must pass’ was released by George Harrison: his first solo album since the break-up of The Beatles, and the first triple set by a rock artist. It included ‘My sweet Lord’.
1970, The Kinks released the concept album ‘Lola versus Powerman and the Moneygoround part One’, including the renamed ‘Lola’. Due to its controversial subject matter and use of the brand name ‘Coca-Cola’ ( in the single version ‘Cherry-Cola would substitute this brand), the single received blacklash and even bans in Britain and Australia.
Enjoy!!
And here is a parody by satirical artist ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic. Dedicated to all the followers of this blog that are Star Wars fans.
