In 1967, today, The Beatles performed ‘All you need is love’ over a pre-recorded backing track as Britain’s contribution to ‘Our World’ (the first live, international, satellite television production). It was watched by over 400 million in 25 countries. For the broadcast The Beatles were surrounded by friends seated in the floor who sang providing backing vocals. These guests included Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Marianne Faithfull, Keith Richards, Keith Moon, Graham Nash, Mike McGear, Patti Boyd, Jane Asher and Gary Leeds.
